Announcing our Interim Leadership and Executive Director Search

Dear Friend,

Last month, we shared that our Executive Director, Gloria Bruce, is moving on to new career horizons.  She’ll still be with EBHO through early December, but please wish her well in this virtual card.

We are excited to announce our interim leadership and Executive Director search for the next leader of EBHO.

Welcome Debra Ballinger, Interim Executive Director

Please welcome Debra Ballinger as EBHO’s Interim Executive Director, effective December 1.

Debra is a long-time member and partner of EBHO, having recently served as the Executive Director of Monument Impact, a community anchor in Concord and East Contra Costa for immigrant, refugee and lower-income residents.

Debra has 20 years of experience in executive nonprofit management and organizing for immigrant rights, affordable housing, living wage, and the arts. From 2017 to 2022, Debra grew Monument Impact to catalyze resilience, civic participation, and economic advancement. With a background in theater, Debra is interested in the intersection of culture with building power through organizing.

The Board of Directors, and Gloria, are thrilled that a leader skilled in both non-profit management and justice-focused advocacy will be representing EBHO and supporting our team during the transition period of the next few months.
