There are over 60,000 renters living in Alameda County's unincorporated Eden Area, including Ashland, Castlewood, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, Happy Valley, Hayward Acres, Hillcrest Knolls, San Lorenzo, and Sunol. Despite their mass, these Alameda County residents have no mayor, no city council, and no local tenant protections.
For the past four years, tenants in the Eden Area have fought for the same basic tenant protections that their neighbors have elsewhere in Alameda County. Finally, the Board of Supervisors has brought forward the first set of tenant protections for a vote tomorrow.
East Bay Housing Organizations is joining a broad coalition of supporters led by My Eden Voice to call on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to:
Vulnerable low income tenants in the Eden Area cannot wait! Please join us in writing a letter to the Board of Supervisors today.
